what do you guys think is the best battery for the battery relocation in a CRX? part #'s would help too. also, where did you put the battery in your crx(just in the back or in the storage compartment)? pics would be nice...

 

Buddy of mine has an 90 Hatch and he put his on the passenger side over by the light. He used the Optima Red top since it is a sealed battery and no need to vent it outside and used a Summit ground strap. Make sure you put it on the passenger side for better weight balance in the car. He made a custom plate and welded it in to hold the battery, but you can also buy a battery tray and bolt it in.

 

in my crx, its in the back using an optima (for sealage like above) and a cheap autozone battery case.

 

yup i put it exactly like you said on the passanger side by the light.. i made my own bracket but i used self tapping screws.. works for me.
i used the stock battery, but idealy you want a sealed one.. like the Optima's.. or a dry cell battery.
Or just buy a sealed box and run the vent piping outside somewhere.. you WILL have to do this to be IHRA legal.. even with a sealed or dry cell i hear??
I've been running with it open.. hell i have the windows down90% of the time anyway.. or the sunroof cracked.. even if i don't just turn your a/c to refresh.. we only use 10% of our brain's anyway

 

Get the Odyssey drycell battery. It is very small but still has all the capacity and power. SCC uses them in a lot of their project cars, and I heard many people love them over the Optimas.

no, no, no. use a stinger battery. you can get the sp800 i think they call it. it has 800cca and is about half the size of your stock battery and shorter as well. mount it securely with a battery box. this will keep the gel inside the battery off of you if you ever get in an accident. oh yeah this battery is also very light weight and you can get it at just about any car audio store.
