Have a Question about my check engine?
i bought my ITR a few weeks ago.
just started on moding it . after 2 days of installing the ITG intake , my check engine went on. is it due to my ecu setting. what can i do about it?

Could also be that you're due for an oil change, and that the "reset" maintenance button needs to be used.
Was it flashing when you start the car, and then stay on?
Where's thay Yoshi tutorial pic ... hehe

Do you have a code reader to see what code it threw (and reset the light)?

Um, you don't need a code reader.
Jump (short) the green test connector at the top of the passenger kick panel with the ignition off (shove a paper clip into the two connector terminals to connect them). Turn on the ig. and watch the check engine light (CEL) flash. First the long flashes (10's), then the short flashes (1's). e.g. 1 long and 2 short = code 12.
The connector is at the top of the panel, at the bottom right edge of the glovebox. You should not have to pull the panel. The conn. might be blue.
Then go here http://www.c-speedracing.com/faq/05.php to get the code description. If you poke around on c-speed's site, you can find the way to jump the connector if you can't figure it out.
Then post the code # and the item. Or maybe you can figure it out on your own once you have the description of the code.

Yeah, I used to do that too... but one gets tired looking and counting the blinks... then you lose count sometimes and it gets frustrating... especially with the crazy number of OBD2 codes... you start hallucinating hehe...
So I invested in a code reader to save my nerves...
But like Ill said, you can pass without one... just make sure you count it a couple times to make sure you have the right one... and you can reset the CEL by disconnecting the negative battery terminal, pulling the backup radio fuse or taking the ECU off the harness all together...

LOL True dat. Sometimes you do think you're hallucinating!
Esp. on something like code 85 + code 67. I guess I'm cheap.

I prefer to clear the CEL by pulling the backup radio fuse. This is in the fuse block near the battery, in the engine compartment. 7.5a. You have to leave it out from 15 secs to two minutes or more.
MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOUR ITR RADIO CODE BEFORE YOU DO THIS! You will have to have the code to get the radio to work again.
