is 5000 or 5800 better for single vtec engagement on a stock ITR motor. someone please give me some info on which is better and why.
thanks
thanks
on a stock itr, stock is usually best
, Usually you have it moved up while doing dyno testing after a cam and/or gear install so that you can help smooth out your curve again when vtec engages

i have an ITR motor in my eg also. someone is selling 2 same ecu's. one kicks in at 5 and one is at 5800. please help me decide before i make some kind of mistake
As o-rage already stated, the stock 5,800 vtec engagement is better for your application. If you didn't already know this, I dunno if you should be out rushing to buy an ECU.

I wouldn't worry about the Vtec cross over as much as I would worry about the rev limit, If it is chipped ECU. My car is tuned and vtec Xover is at 5k.

Yeah thats way too high for stock internals and your just going to end up making a bigger mistake then youd like too. 5800 and stock ecu if you have one.

just fyi, stock itr vtec is at 5600... I dunno where this 5800 is coming from...
Most ppl find that lowering it a little to 5200 or so give more midrange and a smoother crossover (with simple bolt-ons that is).
