I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a correlation between a miscalibrated tach and speedometer. The answer may be obvious, but the reason I ask is that the vtec begins at 6K which is fairly high. That's a matter that has been beaten into the ground, I know, but the speedo may be high too. My friend rode down to Wilmington with me a couple of weeks ago to get the R and drove it back following me in the GST (I was going to drive the R back, but the GST had bad plugs & wires so it started missing like crazy so I navigated it back). Anyway, I set the cruise on 80 and my friend followed closely in the R. When we stopped he told me that I was going 85, easily. I know vtec is activated by oil pressure and may be different on all cars, by the two factors together get me thinking. Has anyone experienced this and how can I test to see if it's off.

That's what I've heard. I kind of wish they set it lower from the factory. VAFC may be in my future.

There is no correllation. Tach is electronic, speedo is mechanical. I think it's just a coincidence. They are both off a little, and about the same amount.
