THE VX BLOCK WILL NOT WORK WITH A MINI-ME

The VX pistons have too large of a dish, and with a D16Z6 head the compression will be way to low and you will have VERY low HP numbers...way less than a stock VX. You want to make sure that you do a mini-me using DX, LX, or CX blocks. Good luck

About the oil jet:

VERY IMPORTANT: If you have a D15 block (or any D-series block with an oil jet for that matter), you need to make sure that you remove the oil jet between cylinders 2 and 3 when you do this swap. If you don’t, you won't have VTEC. I forgot to pull the oil jet out the first time. You won’t get a code, your ECU will say your solenoid is fine and everything is working great but VTEC will not actually engage. Make sure you remove the oil jet. I took a screw, screwed it into the oil jet, and then pulled it out with a pair of pliers.

With the oil jet in:

You take the oil jet out by driving a screw in, and then yanking it out with a pair of pliers:

The oil jet removed:

Ahhhh….much better:

yea you can, thats basically an a6 block and it can be done on an a6 block so i'm almost positive it can be done on the sohc zc.

the sohc zc is just like that of any other sohc dseries, you can put an a6, z6, y8, y7,b1, b7 whatever head u want on them.

and as for the vx block..it will still work.

the SOHC ZC block is the same block as the 87-89 DOHC integra.....you could swap the head ao the SOHC ZC for a dohc...it bolts right up...

......keep telling yourself that.

And to the other guy an sohc zc block would work just the same as an a6 block would for a mini-me setup.

your looking at an 8somethign to 1 compression with the vx block...so it would be well suited for boost and u get less chance of detonation with the y8 head becuz of the quench pads.

no...you dont get it...

the compression would be so low with a VX mini me that I dont think your car would run properly...turbo cars lower compression to 9:1...we're talking in the 7's or low 8's here...

DX pistons:

VX pistons:

You will be losing power with a VX mini-me...you'd be better off turboing the stock motor...not to mention with lower compression turbo guys use stronger rods...and D15 rods are weak as ****. Why don't you just listen to me instead of trying to find a way around it. Also...the VX transmission is absolute ****. The DX transmission is much longer than the EX, and the VX/CX is even worse. I did some calculations, at 7200 RPM here are your shift points with respective transmissions (using 195/50/15 tires, stock tire size):

CX/VX Transmission:
46 - 85 - 140 - 175

DX/LX Transmission:
37 - 68 - 102 - 132

EX/Si Transmission:
35 - 60 - 91 - 126

So, unless you're gonna change the pistons, transmission, and rods on your VX...DONT DO IT What's so hard to understand?
