Default D16Z6 block with non vtec head... will this work?

My buddy is trying to put a dx head on a Z6 block. He said the oil pin won't fit in the Z6 block. He put the head on anyway. I'm wondering if this thing is going to run right?

Well I know for a mini-me you have to yank out the oil jet on the top of the block. I would assume if you are doing it in reverse you would need to stick that oil jet back into the block.
