Default Help!!!!! Help me..... ODD2 GSR-----URGENT!!

Here is the 411, this is an 2000 civic DX shell with GS-R motor. The car(OBD2) with JDM OBD2 GS-R motor. This motor does not have that sensor I believe it's CKP by the crank.

We are using an 2000 Si engine harness with matching ECU. Now the distributor plugs to the JDM Dizzy but there is the sensor by the crank that is empty. Vtec does not work.

The motor runs fine but no Vtec.

anyone have any ideas what to do with that sensor by the crank??

Wrong ecu, vtec engages lower on the GSR, so it may be coming on, and you're not "hearing" it.

That might also be your problem, grab a USDM oil pump, and it will have the sensor location, I believe. Or get a JDM OBD2 ecu, or convert to OBD1.

yeah, since you are running a p2t ecu vtec x should be about 5700.
yeah you need the sensor or convert to obd1 since you are using the wrong ecu
You also wont have secondaries and you will run lean..

i believe you have to run a jdm gsr ecu if not try hard wiring the vtec to the ecu

That is a V-tec harness so it does have the V-Tec wires, I understand that the secondaries would not open but we will fix that so that it stays open.

My question is without that sensor at the oil pump would that be the cause of no V-Tec .........

nah the crank sensor shouldnt affect your vtec. Make sure the car is warm, before testing it out.

The sensor by the oil pump is the CKF: Crank Fluctuation. Its used to help detect catalyst damaging misfires. It should not prevent VTEC from engaging.
