my homie has a 89 crx si, something went wrong w/ one of the calipers on it and the brake cylinder came out way too much on one side what can i use to compress it back in, so we can slip on the caliper over the rotor? Thanks in advance

89 CRX Si did not have rear discs, only 90-91 did. So his rears would be drum. So he has to be talking about the fronts.

I know for the rears there is a special tool that fits into the grooves on the piston. And you screw the piston back in with the tool and a rachet.
For the fronts, try opening the master-cylinder lid and put a piece of wood against the piston and squeeze with a big channel lock. Don't damage the piston though.

Well, considering that the only force you need can be provided with your bare hands, I'd say something's wrong. I would inspect the cylinder very closely to see if it has scored the inside of the caliper and I would replace any rubber that may have torn. The cylinder fits so perfectly into the caliper that you must push it in the exact middle. If you applied enough force to break your c-clamp, you easily could have damaged the caliper. Fortunately, rebuilds are cheap.

take out drain plug on caliper and drain the brake fluid out the caliper (no this will not drain the intire system)get another c clamp and try it. if that doesnt then its screwed up you have to get another caliper. dont worry though ,if short on cash autozone or o'rileys has them for hella cheap if you trade in your old one.
Dont just put a C Clamp straight on the caliper piston. Use a small piece of wood or an old brake pad to put across so you apply even pressure to the piston. If you push too hard on one side of the piston you will damage the piston wall or the piston or both.
