Aight... so we have a few choices here.
Haltech, DFI, and a few others. Then you have the Hondata that's programmable.

Anyone use one here and have any pro's and con's to share with us?

Im in the process of installing a SDS (simple digital systems). I pulled the motor about 2 weeks ago to have a crank sensor installed since this system gets rid of your distributer and uses coil packs. I put the motor back in over the weekend but unfortunatly the bracket for the crank sensor hit the tie bar. So the shop is having to redo the mounting bracket. This system is fully programable it elimanates the ecu, which i will keep to control the a/c and the dash since the 4th gen is electronic. I ment to take pictures with the motor out and of the bracket, but never got around to it, i will deffinetly take pictures of the final product.

Age doesn't matter, i'm 18, and have quite a few years of engine experience.

As for standalones. They are all good, but, its up to you to chose one that fit you best. the biggest factors are: Adjustablity, experienced user, price, and ease of instalation. We really don't care much for the later, but we still include it. Personaly? i'm leaning towards the Zdyne, or the hondata. They are quite a bit cheaper then the motec, DFI, haltech etc.And still have the adjustablity. I also am interested in the power FC, as it has great adjustablity that can be done on the fly. You really don't need to burn new eproms all the time on hondata's, but once you get to the final product, then you burn one, so you can take the lap top off.
