92 GSR head gasket question!!!!!!!! Will my compression be too high???
Whats up guys I have a 92 GSR with JDM ITR cylinder head (complete), ITR intake manifold and throttle body and B17 block with JDm CTR pistons. I recently found out that I need a head gasket replacement because my car has been overheating and it is due to a faulty head gasket. Now my compression is about 11:5 or so and I was wondering that if they have to shave the head down at the machine shop for the head gasket replacement, Would it increase my compression alot and would that be bad??? Like would I have piston to valve clearance issues or anything? Would I have to go with a thicker headgasket or anything? I was also wondering if it is possible to use 2 oem headgaskets one on top of the other, Should I do anything like this? Im really unsure what to do and some advice from you guys would really help me out alot and would be appreciated to the fullest. Thanks alot guys
Milling your head will increase your compression but it all depends on how much of the head your get milled off. And if your not planning on milling the head down alot and just milling the head to have a clean surface for the new headgasket then i think you will be fine as far as clearance issues go with the stock OEM Honda 3-layer headgasket.
If you are planning on milling the head ALOT to increase compression, just make sure you know the new specs your working with and/or clay the motor for clearances.
Hope this helps good luck!

I wont be purposely milling the head down to increase the comppression, just for the head gasket replacement, So I should be good right?
Yeah you will be fine. But double check clearances to be safe.
You can estimate your compression by using C-speedracing.com and using the compression calculate they offer, and just enter your specs.
