CTR pistons on pump gas?
CTR pistons in a Integra Type R block yields a 12.2:1 compression ratio right? Is this ok with 92 octane gas? Thats all we have up here in Vancouver, WA. If anyone has done this, how do you like them?
12.2 sounds about right for CTR pistons in a B18C. This set-up will ping itself right into destruction on pump gas. My cousins car has 12.5 to 1 JE's in his GSR motor and it pings with 100 octane CAM2. He has to run 116 leaded race fuel in his car at all times. Pretty impractical for the street though. Then again he does have the timing adavnaced and runs Haltech stand alone. But either way high compression isn't very street friendly.

i'm pretty sure CTR pistons in an R don't yield a 12.2:1 compression
its around 11.5:1
its around 11.5:1

hey guys, i'm also interested on getting some ctr pistons for my R. my car is already 140.000km so this would be a good time to change them. i ran .98 actane all the time so pinging souldn't be a problem, my question is, wich boring should i get? - standard or .25 over-bored?
one more question, is it better to buy the balanced ctr pistons, they're almost the same price..?

I have CTR`s in an ls/vtec (b16 head) and it`s fine w/ pump gas.

The B16A and the Type R head are similar except for the shape of the combustion chambers which would give the B16A slightly lower compression..right?
