Default Are all D16 cranks the same? Mine snapped

I need to know what I can replace my D16Y7 crankshaft with. It is a 96 Civic. The crank sheared off where the font pulley bolt ends. I have searched, and searched, and searched some more with no results for this motor. Thanks guys!

d16 cranks all the same, you could even put a d17 crank in their if you can find one

All D16 cranks are not the same.

Is it a small snout or large snout?

This was only a issue on th 88-90 motors, after late 89, all D16's use large snout setups.

get a d15 crank in there...and run customs rods....

it'd be nice to actually have a somewhat decent R/S on a d16...

all the fastest d16's run there's that way

I'm just looking to fix what I've got. I bought the car like this so I could just fix it and sell. Everything is perfect and it runs great. You can actually drive the thing around, you just don't have any accessories.

Anyone want to trade a head and intake manifold from a 95 Integra for one? The Integra is non v-tec. Thanks again.

WTF are you talking about?????

A D15 crank WILL NOT work in ANY D16 block
D16 = 55mm main journals
D15 = 45mm main journals

.400" instead of .004" main bearing clearnace = no oil pressure and alot of ratttles!

riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

there is a d15 crank that will work, then there is the majority of them that won't.

and no honda crank other than the h23 and f22 are weak. all of them are forged and plenty strong

it has yet to be shown to me...but when i was in the process of doing my last boosted SOHC...Brad (MAX_CFM) and i disscused working with the R/S a small bit...and he suggested to do what the pro's do and run a d15 crank.

Brad would have NO reason to lie to me...seeing as i do work for him...and he was wanting to build the enigne as much as i was.

i don't do SOHC stuff, but...well, he does. So i believe him. And i guess Matt Patrick being a customer would have some bearing on believing him as well.

the pros take a D16 crank and do a old fashion cut and weld job.

D16 crank welded and cut down to 80mm stroke/D15 main bearing size is what Bisi was using in his 1530cc SOHC monster.

He was also using LS rods before going to the alum. rods.

Matt (ZEX man) was a BIG help along with Bisi on the "old" D series board.

Anybody know a good source for a used crank in good condition? Any of your friends have one sitting around?

I don't think the D-17 crank will for a D-16 block.

But, i have a feeling that Matt will be "slightly" faster this up coming season

Matt had better be faster!!!!!!!

I know he is running alot more weight than Bisi, but Bisi was running all motor and Matt was turbo + spray.

300 whp vs. 450 whp

Sometimes trying to get too much power down just makes you slower.

BTW I hit the link to Brads page, where the hell did that big *** degree wheel come from??? Finally someone using the correct tools.

As per your recommendations, I purchased a z6 crank. Unfortunately the mains are no where near to the same size.
