Default Driving in rain...CEL light goes on...idle is messed up

ok guys....it was really raining hard here in the east bay, so the freeways are really soaked....

i'm driving down the freeway and i see my CEL go on...i was like wtf...then i slow down and hit some traffic and then i see my car revving to 3k rpm by itself, then falls back down. I just made it to work and the idling is still really bad. I don't know what to do guys..i checked my cai if it was still on and it was. The filter on the CAI is wet but i know if my car hydrolocked my engine would have died..correct???? any ideas what is going on with my car??? btw...i hear weird noises under my car near the catylic convertor...the noises are loud vibrations...man i dunno what is up with my car..please anyone who might know answer back!!

Ya im pretty sure it would still run hydrolocked. It will just run like **** like it is doing now. All I can say is take off that CAI and throw on the stock box take it to the dealer and say you dont even know what might have ahappend, or save for a k20a swap.

Did you pull your plugs and eject all the excess water from the head?

They would be the plugs under the plugcover (the black cover with the A symbol)

Take them out, take out your fuelpump fuse and crank your engine a few times with the gas pedal floored. You should see water shoot up out of the sparkplug holes.

The same thing happen to my ep3. I was scared...my car was gone....My car just died on me....then I started it right back...and it would not rev pass 4k...then after about 1 mile or so.....it was good to go.....The CEL came on and then went off....Its funny because now my car seems a lot quicker....

I would also reset the ECU after you put the plugs back in.

Did it work for you though?

Anytime!

Yes, its a drycharger by KN. Its a breathable cover that goes over your filter so you don't need a bypass valve
