speedometer!
hey ive got a 1993 del sol s d15b7 manual transmission with about 100,000 miles, its got a aem cai and a custom catback exhaust everything else is bone stock, so basically i turn my car on and my notice my speedo isnt working, my tach works perfectly i keep driving and then my check engine light goes i pull over check to make sure the clamps holding my cai onto the tb were not loose, as this happened before cus i didnt tighten them enuff when i put it on, anyway i checked to make sure everything was fine and i checked to make sure the filter was still secured onto the end of the pipe it was so i get back in and now the speedometer is bouncing around lagging or whatever so i jus keep driving, cel comes on again i randomly jus keep restarting my car. so then i go inside for like 30 mins to an hour and its back to normal, anyways just wondering whats going on because it seems to be a intermittent problem and it only pops up once in awhile and i think its related with my CAI but not really sure, anyways any suggestions why my speedo would behave like this?

ive got a 93 si civic with a d16z6 and i have kind of the same problem
no cel though.. buyt my speedometer sometimes doesnt work.. then it does.. and it might jump all over the chart when its gonna cut out..
i could be sitting still and itll be bouncing up to 200km/hr
no mods to my car though.. far as i know its a sensor issue or even as bad as the cluster itself

Re: (Morning Call)
Best thing to do would be to check the CEL next time it comes up, then report back to us. To find out how to check a CEL, go here: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1171263
