Springs install question
I posted a topic on this board about two-three weeks ago :

In the beginning of december, I installed a set of tokico blue shocks and tokico springs. It was advertised as a 1.5" drop, but after I installed it, the fronts barely dropped 1/2" and the rears dropped about 1".
It's been 1500 miles and about 3.5 weeks, and they have not settled much. It might be about about 1/8" of an inch lower, but nothing noticable to the eye.
One thing I've noticed a little funny was that the top of the shock shaft is completely flush with the locknut on the top :

I was worried that I put together the strut assembly wrong, so I took it apart today.
AFter taking it apart, I realized that there is NO WAY that shock shaft is going to come up anymore than what you guys see in the picture. The washer plate that goes right ontop of the bump stop stops the shock shaft from coming up any higher than what you guys see in the picture.
I just wanted to know if this is normal, I've checked out tons and tons of engine bay pictures and I've noticed that everyone's shock shaft is sticking out of the locknut on the top.
I will try to post more pictures of the suspension parts tommorow. I know I'm not that great at explaining these things

Thanks for checking that up for me! Yeah, I've looked at tons of engine bay pics on the net and every one of them have the shock shaft sticking out of the locknut by at LEAST 2-3 threads... Some have it sticking out by only a couple millimeters.
I will take more pics tommorow morning.

Actually, you are right, I thought of that already. If the shaft is sticking out more or less, the springs would still compress the same amount. I was just hoping that I was wrong about that. But I still would like to find out why mine is different from everyone elses. THanks!

Little metal tube thing <- no idea what it's called

Actually, you are right, I thought of that already. If the shaft is sticking out more or less, the springs would still compress the same amount. I was just hoping that I was wrong about that. But I still would like to find out why mine is different from everyone elses. THanks!

If anybody cares, I fixed the problem!!
I had the bumpstop plate upside down, there is a taper on the inside of the plate which I had on backwards and costed the 3-4mm that I lost.
Anyways, I torn down the front suspension and flipped them the right way, and I got the strut shaft to stick out at least 3-4 threads. However, my car is not any lower, oh well.... I'll just have to save up for some GC/konis
