Default Strut choice

I have a free new set of Gabriel Ultra Struts for the front and back of my eg civic si. I also would like to install my new set of tein lowering springs. My question is, should I install the Tein springs on my Gabriel Struts just cause their new? Or install them on my perfectly fine, no problems currently 5 year+ old Kyb GR2 struts? Ive heard bad things about Gabriel thats why im asking. Thanks for reading

My guess is: Don't do either as they are good for OEM but not for lowering.

The kyb struts already have lowering springs when I bought the car 5 years ago. It rides smooth just thought I would change them out to teins because they were too old.

its just that I want It a little lower. there's still like an inch or half Inch gap left. that's why I want to change the springs

okay. well if the ride is still smooth. I'd just put the new springs on the Kyb struts. since they still give a smooth ride. they seem to be in good condition still. save the new ones for a replacement later on.

GR-2s wont take more than 1.5 - 2" drop before they start blowing out.
