I got a ACT stage II clutch, i've notice that i got this "sweet" funk that i smell in my car. is this common, I am assuming that this scent is from the friction material. any other ACT users wanna lemme know that its all right????

 

I don't know if it's the clutch you're smelling or not. Burnt clutch smells like complete ***.. are you slipping your clutch when you engage it? A sweetish smell usually indicates coolant, check your coolant level and your radiator for any cracks.

 

when I burn my clutch, it smells like burning brakes ... both smells suck, IMO, but it tells me that they're doing their jobs I agree, the "sweet" smell is probably coolant. Hope you find out what it is

did you properly wear the clutch in? if not this could be your problem, you're beating on the clutch when you shouldnt.

once again, u are my hero, i hate when people ask me what stage i have, what the ****?! ur the man pimp

 

could be a combination of both the pressure plate and clutch, if they are new then yes it will smell a little, but if it lasts more then a week, get it checked out

 

Stage II is that street strip thing??? with kevlar on one side......and the smell finally went away after my trip to salt lake city. HUrray the "sweet" smell is definitely not the coolant, but was actually the clutch.......and i found out that my brother has been driving the car and doing launches.....on a new clutch......what a ***......

Not sure how long it was until you drove the car, but If it still smelled, or smelled when you drove it he got that clutch pretty damn hot

 

my jackass brother is one of them 16 year old that just got his license and is in love with FNF and 2F2F..........WTF, stupid Movie messes up the boys mind......i told him that all the crap is in the movies.......but he think that its real, cause he saw those cars in SEMA.....
