Does it do it even when the stereo is off? Could be something with the bad ignition switch problem...

The car runs ok when the HU is off.
The problem started when I installed 6 x 9 Infinity speakers in the back and the optional Auxiliary input for the Alpine. Maybe I have to ground the speakers?
My HU was installed at Circuit City, so I really don't know where that clown hid the ground.

for kicks check the ground near the batttery and ake sure the ground cable is not all gunked up at the battery terminal or the frame. in my case my alpine would crap out after 5-10 minutes of playing so i fianlly rann all new grounds for my amp and head unit and grounded them right next to the batery and it cleared up the problem, hopefully it will be as simple as that for you....
