Default alarm question

i posted this in gen discussion but since its for my teg i thouhgt id c if i could get more info this way and tried searchingl already this is a dumb question but i dont know much **** about electronics. i am looking to get a upgraded ecu prob a chipped obd 1 p72. my questions are how are alrams wired to your ecu mine is wired to my ecu is it just spliced into some wires or is it more complicated than that. also going to the obd 1 ecu from obd 2 will there be problems with the new programming and stuff and cause the alarm to not function properly. any input will be beneficial to me. thanks

what kind of alarm do u have? i install alarms and have never hooked up an alarm to any ecu wires.. u shouldn't have any problems at all..

basic alarms is tapped into ur: parking lights, starter, ignition, door lock/unlock, dome light wires..

if u have remote start then probably the tach and brake. so you shouldnt have any plsm. goodluck.

Interesting. The way you could find out is get the installers manual for your alarm and match the wire colors to whatever is going into the ecu.
