Default Fuel Pump Kill Switch *pic* this all it is?

I just want a kill switch on my car and dont care for a relay because the switch will never be turned off while driving ever. Thats the only purpose of a relay right? for safety of the switch turning off?

Im not great with wiring but this seems basic, just a YELLOW and a BLACK running to the fuel pump and Im going to cut into the yellow (positive) and have a toggle switch hidden were I want?

What kind of wire do I use? Just basic 16-18 gauge? Could I just use 16 gauge speaker wire?

Also what are the specs of the switch that I am going to be getting?
I need it to be higher than 10amp right? Anything else I ask for?

Here a pic, Im guessing this is all that there is to it without a relay?

Any other info would be great. Learned what I did in less than 20 min of searching, just checking up.

I know nothing about relays and if the only reason of getting one is because of me acidentally hitting the switch off while driving? Is that why everyone is so ersistant about relays? Or can something else happen?

Cause the spot Im putting it in there is no chance of it ever getting touched
