What kits are available? Whats the best price? I'm looking into boosting this spring and wanted to look at some choices.

do it yourself, my turbo kit costs about 1590bucks, same as the greddy, with all brand new stuff, and better feul managment, and external wastegate.

It consists of:

Rebuilt from factory t25 turbo - 350
log style exhaust manifold - 200
Tial wastegate - 200
turboxs BOV - 100
DSM 450cc's - approx. 50
APEXi Vafc 2 - 290 (already have though)
Tyrus FMIC - 230
Autometer Boost and Air/Feul Guage - 75-100
Oil line kit - 100

You also have to throw in the price of Charge pipes, and wether or not your doing it yourself. YOu could also save money buy jsut getting a safc, or a feilds controller, which can be found for less than half the price of the vafc2. ANd for stuff like the guages, BOV, exhaust mani, wastegate, etc, can be bought used, and save alot of money.

Ive seen turbo kits put together for as little as 800 bucks or even cheaper, but it depends ow cheap you are, and how long you want it to last, and how much boost your gonna run. Im gonna sit at around 7-8 psi, but my setup is good for around 11 with the vafc.

 

for more potential than the Greddy kits, look into a DRAG or REV HARD kit.
I know of a few people pushing 11s on off the shelf DRAG/ Rev Hard kits for D16s.

 

i like the greddy kit but i agree if you do it yourself you can make it how you want it.
