Completed engine swap...now I have a list of problems...pls help
I had already posted this in the integra forum, and i know this is not type-r specific, but there seems to be more technically adept ppl in this forum, so pls help.
I had the opportunity to swap out my engine and auto tranny with a newer engine and manual tranny. This is why I did it: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=52763 Now I have a few minor problems I need to take care of:
1) most import issue: car is running really rich (I think) and black smoke is blowing out the rear end when I shift. Possibly a bad O2 sensor? I took it to the shop that did the swap and they said that the O2 sensor is located under the intake manifold and suggested I replace them. The Acura service dept says there is no such thing, but there is one on the catback...for $200+. Before I make that investment someone please advise on what I should do. Could there be other probs? The ECU was supposedly swapped...this that make a difference?
2) half of the front bumper blinkers no longer works. The ones pointing forward still work, but the side ones don't...already checked the bulb and fuses, there are fine.
3) intermitten wind shield wiper went dead, and when I turn off the normal speed wipers (which work fine) they stop at the spot where I turn them off...another words they don't go back to the resting place. What is going on here?
4) reverse lights do not work...mechanic says he runs into this problem with every auto-to-manual swap. Is this true? If so anyone know a remedy?

You said you're getting black smoke from your exhaust. What ECU are you running? Since your car is a 1995, you should only have to run 1 O2 sensor. It is on your downpipe. Check that it's in good working order.
I can't help you with #2 of your problems. Check the wiring with a test light.
Problem #3, the windshield wiper stalk might be dead. It happened to one of my Civics before. Change that and you should be fine. Try to swap with a friend or something before you go buying one. The steerign wheel has to come off to replace this piece.
Problem #4, the reverse lights will work. You need to wire them up to work. On auto Integras, power for the reverse lights is triggered by the shift lever going from "P" to "R". There is a harness where the stock auto shifter used to be, underneath the center console. It's a big clump of harness with a clip on it. Find the reverse light wires, and run them up to the front of the manual tranny, on the bottom. There's a harness there that plugs up to the reverse sensor inside the tranny.
Hope that helps.
