arp studs

Default arp studs

hey guys, well i recently put the head back on my b16a and i used the arp head studs, i torqued everything down to stock spec, i been driving for a a week, now i noticed that smoke is comming out the exhaust and oil is leaking from the head a lil. iono why the head is not sealing ryte. when i had the stock head bolts on everything was fine, is there any speacail way to torque down the arp's>???

arp uses their own torque specs. check what the specs were from the original packaging. also, you should retorque the head studs after it has heat cycled once.

Gambo117 is correct. You have to re-torque after firing up the car and letting it idle for a few minutes then shut her down and re-torque bolts. It is a pain in the *** but you gotta do it! Also, ensure that you torque the head bolts in the correct pattern and doing so slowly and ensure you use the molylube that comes with them.
