I'm not sure what HU you have, but on my 9813, when you remove the faceplate, there is a little hole on it where you could insert a pin to reset it. I would try that. If you call Alpine (1-800-alpine1 I think) that's the first thing they will tell you to try. If that doesn't work, I would ask the guys at the place you bought it from or simply just exchange it.
do you have any amps if so the alpine has two remote wires one for amp one for power antenna the one for power antenna loses power when you put a cd in because obviously when listening to cd you dont need the antenna
im trying to say that i can listen to the radio
but when i put in a real cd
its lights up showing the track and its playing
but im getting no sound like its muted
i dunno why
is there sumthing i have connected wrong

this is the most common mistake... look behind the radio at the connections
the blue/white is the remote amp turn-on
the blue is the power antennea
sounds like you connected blue where you should have connected blue/white
if your not sure than disconnect the blue wire you have connected and see if you lose sound from the radio, if that's case just try the blue/white and throw a cd in. If that's not it then that unit needs to be serviced, but is still an uncommon error with alpine radios

i had the exact same problem. in my alpine 7892. i think you might have the same. alping has an interrupt feature. so if you hookup you cellphone or something, and a phone call comes in, it will mute it all. i am not exactly sure which wire. but look for an interrupt or mute wire on the harness, my wire was stripped and touching the chassy so it was grouinding out. that should help
my advice to you would be to go to ur local car audio store and purchase a wiring harness for about 15 bux... it will eliminate all ur wire splicing problems... you just simply click together both connectors and your ready to go....
The pink wire is the mute wire, however that's not the problem, since it has sound when listening to the radio, but not when listening to cd's
he needs to check his remote turn-on wire
he needs to check his remote turn-on wire
I just read the part of his post about the Interrupt showing up on the display. He does just need to hook up the blue/white to turn on the amp instead of the blue. The pink must be intermitently shorting to ground to cause the interrupt earlier on, so it should be terminated nonetheless.
thanks for all yalls help
