Default Best Component System to accompany some Bass!

Ok guys, the speakers/system in the GSR is struggling, can't turn it over 20 without the speakers cracking and sounding so shitty i want to hang my head out the sun roof and close it on my neck! (Yes, it is that damn serious)

So I was thinking, a component system is perfect for the GSR, cause it already has the cut outs for the tweeters. My question is, what Component system will sound nice, considering I listen to alot of rap and Hip Hop? I don't want something that will breka th bank, but a good system, that can get loud, and stay clear (every audio buff's criteria). I plan on adding like an alpine head unit, and 1 12 or maybe 2 10's?

I know this is alot to ask, so if no one wants to answer, and just talk directly on AIM, that is fine. I am looking for an overall system set up, good head unit, component system, and sub set up.

Am I going to need a amp to drive the component system.? Understand I will not be in any competitions, just looking for a system to keep my head ringin' and me dancin while cruisen. Holla at me

Can you give us a dollar figure for the whole project?

my advice.
1. good choice with an alpine HU
2. Get an amp for the component speakers
3. dont worry about rear speakers. they're not necessary
4. If you're really ambitious, try building kicks for the components with the mid and tweeter mounted close to each other.

Hmmm, Dollar figure for the whole project.... I was thinking aroun $300 for the head unit, looking at the Alpine CDA-7995, another $250- $300 for the component system. $200 for the amp to run them. And around $600 for my subs and amp. I want midranges, but where would I put them in the teg? I don't want like a super custom system. The SUbs are going to be mounted in a box, with the amp mounted to the box prob too so when I go to the track they can be removed. I also want a box that can fit under, or in the trunk with a rear strut tower brace. Oh, and ported or sealed box. I am looking for hard hits, not really shaking, vibrating bace all the time. Do you guys recomend a capacitor?

Here's the system I was planning for my Integra before it was stolen...

Eclipse HU (8443) You could use an Alpine though, that's fine.
JL XR650 components for the front
Disconnected rear speakers
Elemental Designs E10O sub (you could use a 12 if you wanted, it would be the E12O)
US Acoustics 4085 amp (85x4) for the components as well as the sub

This would probably sound pretty damn good and will come in under your budget. I'm no audio guru, but I did do a fair amount of research before carefully selecting these products. Good luck.

JL components are excellent. I'm kinda biased. I think just about anything made by JL is excellent. (although I dont care for JL amps. too much... prefer zapco)
