Default Eng. Mang. & state inspection?

Hello Everyone and Happy Holidays,

I am in the process of collecting turbo parts for an 00Si. I have almost everything but Engine Management. I was thinking of going AEM EMS or Hondata. The question I have is when I went to state inspection, they plugged my car directly into the emmissions machine (no dyno, or anything in the tail pipe) and read all the info off the ECU. (this is NJ) If I where to go Hondata I would have an OBD1 ecu, and no (Honda) ECU with the AEM. Does anyone know what would happen when they hooked either one of these systems up to the emissions machine? Also if anyone knows anyway of fuel management that will go through NJ state inspection, please advise.

Thank You for your time,

Gene

you will fail with hondata because they will be trying to read a OBD-2 ECU and you have a OBD-1 ECU with Hondata. someone else correct me if I am wrong but you will also definately fail with AEM EMS.
