Hey
I just installed the H22 into the EH but seems to me that the motor is a little crooked? seems to lean in towards the friewall on the tranny side. I followed the instructions on the HCP website (First install the tranny side mount, then the rear, and then the drivers side, right?).
The only thing I think it could be is the rear bracket is the wrong one, but I bought it from a fellow HT member and he claimed and assured me it was from a H22, I also bought a stock downpipe modded for the civic exhaust from him. I assume he had a H22 civic as well?
Also I'm using a 97 Vtec head, could the bracket on the timing belt side on the 97+ preludes be different then the 93+?
How can I check if the rear bracket is the correct one? Is there a marking or a part # on it?
I haven't had a chance to put the axles in to see if they are at a wierd angle, yet.
ANy tips, advice or flaming(J/K
) would be greatly appreciated
Oh yeah I using the HCP mounts(I had them powder coated black)
Sorry for the novel...LOL

You might have a JDM Accord SiR rear tranny bracket, which looks almost the same as a Prelude rear bracket, but will throw the position of the motor off enough to look all ****-eyed. But looking at your pictures, it looks pretty straight for the most part. You can check here to see how a motor sits with a HCP EG-22 kit that was used on a customer's car (just ignore the other kit pics) - http://www.JDMshit.com/Totem

Won't matter... the bracket is bolted to the block, not the head.

No marking on it, and hard to tell unless you have both laying up next to each other. I have a picture of both somewhere... gotta find it and upload it.

Oh that looks wicked close to the frame. I don't have the eh, i got an ej myself, but that just doesn't look right to me. You might wanna do a search for some mroe eg/eh22 pics.
Nope. He has a jdm rear h22 tranny bracket. I am the one that sold it to him. That is my stock exhaust manifold too.
That bracket came straight off my 93 jdm h22 that i got out of a front prelude clip. I bought a brand new usdm tranny bracket from jeff @ hybrid garage cuz, at the time, there was a rumor going around that the usdm one was different and that you need it with the hcp eg-22 kit. Well I wasted $70 dollars right there cuz when i went to change the bracket and compared the jdm one and usdm one they were identical (I shoulda listend to Newman
).
Anyways...the whole reason I wanted to change out the rear bracket was cuz my rear mount seemed to be off about 1/4" to the right(passenger side). This caused my rear mount bushing to tear as it was getting squished on this side.
Here is the thread I posted about it a long *** time ago. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=374701
After going through two bushings, I finally dropped my subframe and rear mount, opened up the hcp mounting holes on the rear mount 1/4" to the left (driver side). Slid the mount over and rebolted it to the subframe. When I put it all back in, the rear tranny bracket lined up perfectly with the modified rear mount.
My frame is not tweaked. I know that for sure. A couple of other guys on here using the hcp kit have had this same problem. I don't know what's up, but the rear mount on SOME of the hcp eg-22 kits seem to be a 1/4" off to the passenger side, causing the rear mount to rub on that side of the rear bracket.
Before I modified my rear mount, my motor sat alittle funny too. It's hard to tell, but I noticed it was sitting crooked. Is your rear bracket kinda squished up to the passenger side of the rear mount?

Hey was sup. Thanks for posting up, man.The rear bracket does look like its rubbing agianst the mount. I'll take some pics. It seems that I'm having the same problem as you had. SO how much did you have to drill the mount? Did you get your fixed?
Thanks
P.S: Thanks for the parts again
