Default Any body work guys here? Picked up a dent

I noticed there's a sizeable dent just below my rear-driver's side quarter panel window where the metal kind of forms an edge from factory (kind of like this < if looking from the side). I'm sure it was done by a hit and run driver because this is the first time I've even noticed it.

I was thinking, could i take off my rear quarter panel on the inside and some pop out the dent? Will it be smooth like stock was done? If I take it to a body shop, it's going to cost a nice chunk of change i'm sure. let me know if this is a project I can undertake on my own..Thanks

If its on a crease in the metal, good luck.

Yes,

It's right on the crease which may make this project a real bitch to look like stock. Some idiot obviously must have reversed into me while trying to get into a spot that I was parked next to

EDIT* my bad he did say if it was on a crease. it doesnt matter if it is or not it can still be fixed as long as the damage itself isnt creased, which is considered more than a 90 degree angle. i just noticed you were in fl. wheres pembrooke pines?? i could do all the body work and get it all sanded and prepped to where all youd have to do is take it somewhere and have them mask it off and spray and buff.</TD></TR></TABLE>

So, I guess undertaking this project will be a real PIA. I'm just going to call up a reputable body shop I know and have them do the work. Anyway, it's a perfect time for them to touch up some of those scratches/dents on the hood and my passenger side door e.t.c. Thanks for the help. I'll see if I can get picture of it later when I clean the car...

I was just thinking. I saw this infomercial product on tv called the "Ding King"that seems to pop out dents simply by gluing suction type cups to the dent and 'unscrewing' out the puller that seems to just pop out the dent. Do you think this would work for the type dent i've got. I've actually seen it pop out real dents on the same infomercial. Let me know if this is possibly a good choice. If not, I'm gonna have to wait for some more cash to take the car into the body shop
Here's the scoop on the Ding King:

JZ knows the score, Thats what I did when I damaged the left side of my Lude, the bodywork was scraped all along front wing, door and just into the rear wing.

I did mine myself but was under noted advice from my friend whos a bodyshop manager & sprayer. He also sprayed it for me at a bargain price!

Instead of blending the resprayed section in; I used air tool to sand down the surface an get all paint off. Then full process, filler & hardener etc (..on rear wing; I just replace the door and wing, sil wasnt touched).
Then he took care of it from there doign full job from primer to high qual Lacquer.

Post a pic and Ill post a pic of what happened to mine. Believe me mine looked a mess!
Only bodywork damage though; easily repaired.

Its a bitch when sum1 does that and doesn't leave any details.

But at the end of the day a cars Just a lump of metal that can be re-shaped through various methods. Wether that be purposeful or accidental; Its still just a piece of metal.

You'll get it sorted; just dont waste any time stressing about it mate!

Yeah, I'm not stressing too much. it's only about a baseball sized dent but noticeable. Just thought i'd check out my options before getting raped by a body shop Thanks for the info. though. I'll see if can get a good picture of the dent once i wash the car
