code 17 - speed sensor

well, on my vehicle it's a speed cable. my speedometer died on me oneday... i checked out the ecu, it was givin me code 17. I checked out the cable and somehow the speed cable got twisted/snapped in the middle. anyway, i replaced it with a new one. my speedometer is working fine now but the ecu is STILL throwing the code 17?!

any suggestions?

Yeah reset the ecu, unhook the battery and let it sit for a couple minutes. Then next time you start it up, let it run for like 10 minutes with out touching anything.
