Yeah the speedo works fine.At one time i wasnt working right, then it started to work fine.I will try that and see what happens.Thanks.
Also, check the connector at the speed sensor, due to it's location it is subject to corrosion-look for a green residue on the metal part of the connector. If you have corrosion, you have to replace the connector.
Are you sure the code cleared?? That code should not set until you actually move or drive the car. That code may just be a memory code from when the speedo was not working correctly. Pulling the correct fuse to re-set the ECU doesn't always work if any accessories are powered up on that same circuit. Disconnect the battery or the ECU itself if the code wont clear.

The code does not pop up when i drive, I had to rig it somehow to get the code. When the car comes on, the check engine light pops up and it stays on.

Code 17 should not pop up until the car is moving. Either it's not code 17, or your ECU is faulty. Make sure that you clear the code-disconnect the battery for at least 10 seconds. What does "rig" it mean?

Ok, this is what happened. My check engine light came on.So I got a paper clip and connected it to some wires under my dash near my ecu.The check engine light then blicked 7 times followed by one long blink. So i called the shop and the man told me the long blink meant 10.10+7=17 which is vehicle speed sensor. The only other option is code 7 which is throttle angle. When i say i rigged it, i used a paper clip to get the code to pop up,but that doesnt matter.I just want to figure out how to get my check engine light off.

Code 17 would be one long & 7 short, in that order. Sounds like you have code 7 and code 10.
Code 7 = throttle position sensor
Code 10 = intake air temperature sensor
Clear it by disconnecting the battery cables like someone already said. Have your radio's anti-theft code 'cause you'll need it.

this is correct.
