Thinking about buying this LS...help
I went to go look at a 99 LS today, and Im considering buying it, here is the autotrader ad for it.

The price is $9250. The only problem, is that there is large scratch on the passenger side. It was like that when he bought the car, so hes not sure if its a key scratch, or if it was from a bush or parking lot or something like that. The scratch is about 6 inches on the front fender, the whole door, and about a foot and half or two feet on the rear quarter panel. Do you have any idea how much this would cost to fix? Its not terribly deep, but I dont think it can be buffed out. Basically, it comes down to whether or not I can talk the guy down to where it would be worth it to get the scratch fixed. Other than the scratch, the car is pretty much perfect, there are few little paint chips here and there, and one of the plastic peices on the interior has a crack in it, but nothing else. What would you say the car is worth, and what would you do in my situation?

For my area as well, that seems a little high for an LS, unless the mileage is rediculously low. Keep shopping.

Really? Im pretty sure I could talk the guy down to around 8k, and I havent seen any 98-01 even LS's going for that low with 60k miles on them, let alone GSR's. Compared to what Integras are going for around Seattle, this seems like not a bad deal at all. Three of my friends have recently bought them...one an RS with 70k miles on it for 8k, one a 98 LS with 55k miles for 11.5k, and the other a 00 GS with 19k miles on it for 15.5k, so this seems pretty reasonable.

It would probley cost 300 to 400 bucks to fix, if the scratch can not be buffed out it, but if you can buff it will be cheaper. Try and get him to lower the price to compensate for the defect and you should get the price to fix the plastic piece.
i couldn't tell if he had mentioned leather or not for the interior... but i think it's a good deal. i got my 98 for 13500 with 19k mint. but then again i prefer LS's.
