Default Play in rear brake assembly? Loose spindle nut or bad wheel bearing???

I noticed my car making a loud screeching noise when turning right, coming from the rear right wheel. So I took off the wheel, and noticed like 1/2" of play in the whole rear disc assembly. I have no access to tools right now, so I can't check the spindle nut. Could this be a bad wheel bearing? I have been planning on replacing the front bearings when I change my wheel studs soon, and I can't afford another $50 to do another one.

Does anybody know if the rear spindle nut is 32mm like the front axle nut?

could be, the rear uses the same 32mm as the front, but afaik you cant get the bearing seperately, it comes with the hub, which is ~100bucks, i replaced mine not too long ago, very simple, take off all the brake equipment, take the 32mm off, and pull the whole hub off.

Yikes, $135.02 discount price. I'm gonna start crossing my fingers now.

If you can see the axle nut, compare how many threads are showing on each side. If they are about the same, bearing for sure. Way different, the nut may have loosened. If you have never had that nut off the car, I doubt it would suddenly decide to loosen a bunch, so I would also lean toward the bearing being toast.

Maybe if you've been really good, Santa will bring you a new one. I know how you feel, my snowblower blew up the same day I got my bonus last week. Byebye bonus and then some, no new race wheels this year.

That sucks. I have never touched the spindle nut, but maybe the person who had these rear discs did. I'm really leaning towards the bearing though.
