For those of you who have had your systems stolen, how did the insurance company verify what you had? I called my insurance company to see what I needed to do be covered for reimbursement in case it was stolen and was told to send reciepts of the items I have installed. The problem is that a few of the components were already on the car when I got it, and naturally no reciepts. I am going to take pics of the system, and I have a list of all the model and serial numbers, thats the best I know to do at this time..Any experiences/problems in this area anyone?

Take the car to the place you pay your insurance through and take pictures there with an agent watching. Get price lists from local dealers for the items that you don't have a reciept for .

Have the agent either sign some sort of paper verifying that they saw the items in your car s you photographed them, or ask if they have thier own forms you can fill out. Always make sure you have THEIR signature and keep multiple copies for your own records.

 

Depends....if you already have your car insured and are now adding a system. I know in my case the only way to get the system covered is to send the insurance company reciepts for the equipment you want covered. Then you will have to PAY a fee that is added into your ins coverage to cover all the equipment if it is stolen. If you do not pay to have it covered it is NOT covered by ins.

Call your ins provider and ask them what their policy is!!!

 

I called up my insurance co. saying I wanted to get my system insured. They asked me for how much, and I said $3000. They said okay, and now I pay $19 extra on my insurance a month.
