alternator bearing/pully question...
when my integra is started up in the morning the alternator bearing/pully seems to be dry and screeches till the bearing/pully warms up a lil then it stops..but sometimes its so bad that the engine struggles a lil bit upon initial start up to get that bearing/pully to move then as it warms up it frees up also..so my question is , is there anyway i can shoot some wd40 or grease it up with out taking the alternator out the car...maybe a spray type lubricant with the straw extension can get close enough in there to lub it up?..if possible what lubricant will be a good temp fix till the weather warms up or i can take the alternator out...is that bearing something that can be replaced or will the whole alternator need replacing...TIA
cliff note question...is there any way to lube up the alternator bearing/pully without taking it out the car...?

nah the belt i good...the screeching is from the bearing in the alt, freezing up when the car sits overnight in the cold, cause in the summer it doesnt happen
man if that bearing is seizing that bad not much is going to fix it. The alternator should spin very freely so if it's binding so bad that the engine is struggling I would not drive that thing another mile seriously
man i drive it even harder..lol... nah but ive been driving it like this since las winter when i noticed it and as the weather warms up the problem diminishes so i didnt worry about it all spring/summer/fall,till now as its reoccuring...

well its a metal screeching sound so im assuming thats is the problem..thhe e tension seems fine on the belt, its not really tight to cause it to bind..i never touched those belts before so messing with them will be a first timer for me but a task i think i can take on...providing i have the neccessary tools for the job...ive tried belt dressing before and it did nothing..
lets see if this can example can help determine that the bearing pully is the culprit...the day before yesterday when i started the car..engine was ice cold, started the car and it struugled for a moment to get up to 1500 rpm where it normally rest ,as its warming up,the rpms come down as they would normally, but would not drop below 1000 for a part of the day, then they started to fall back to 750 but very slowly after the car was in nuetral...this continued threw out the day up into yesterday...last night i had to run out, started the car,(ir was at normal temp already)the idle was having a hard time staying above normal operating temp idle(750),i drove it normally and then the rpms increased and decreased as they normally would but at times it will still struggle to fall below 100o like theres resistance...hope i gave a good example and explanation...thanks for the replies and help..
