H22 is a common swap for a Teg, but a good one; and easier than others because I believe it uses the same mounts as the B-series do. Welcome, BTW

My question is not why DO you want an h22, but why DONT you want a turbo? Good luck with your car!

well i could stay with my b18, and open it up to 87mm, but i'd rather get a h22 and open it up. This car is only going to be for summer, i want to build a allmotor sleeper, we have so many civics and preludes around here with superghargers, and nos, i figure i want something different, i was thinking if not h22 ,maybe lsvtec, i don't know yet, i have read all threads concering h22 buildups, and lsvtec buildups,, and yes my new best friend is the search button.
what would you honda builders think would be a insane motor? money is not an issue

Yes, Darton sleeves are terrific, and many very reputable builders use them. As far as engine choice, there are many, although I'm fairly sure that the general consensus is that it's not wise to open a b18 up more than 85mm. You could go LS/VTEC with a B20 and an ITR head, if you have a really good engine builder. LS/VTEC has the reputation of being finicky (whether that's deserved or not I can't say). You could go turbo for about the same price, and as was asked above, I'm not sure why you've already ruled this out. A turbo'ed B20 is a scary thing. Or you get a stock B18C1 or C5 and build the heck out of it. Any way you go, do your research, ask around, and don't discount turbo until you know more about it. And hey, have fun!

if you post there on g2ic.com "h22 in teg" they will flame you they are quick flame a person on that msg board IMO, hope that helps, welcome and good luck
