Default :::::::HELP A FELLOW ITR OWNER FIND INFO TO FIGHT INSURANCE::::::::::

Hey guys, I would appreciate any help from you guys to help show the adjuster how rare the ITR is. I talked to my lawyer and said the more info I can print off showing the rarity of the car, the better for my case. So if you guys have any links or know of where I can find and print info on the ITR, I would GREATLY appreciate it guys.

TIA
Joey Phan

There's a copy of a letter on here somewhere from Honda that states the exact number of 97 and 98 models sold in the US. Do a search and see what you can come up with.

EDIT:

zygspeed just posted it in the post above mine.

Usually, you don't need to prove that it's rare; you need to prove its market value. You can do that by pulling up listings of ITRs for sale on Autotrader.

What insurance company do you have? I've never heard of one not knowing the ITR is rare. Some even classify it as a collector car. Let everyone know who you have so we can avoid them!

Call a dealership that has one, act like a potential buyer and ask for a written price quote to show your credit union or something.. Give it to the insurance company..

BINGO , that would be great, even better if he did that from a few dealers around the country.

Did that, but dealer quoted me barely over 12gz because of high miles(67k). But thats the price they gave me if I traded it in, so I wonder how much they would charge for one. I'll give Goodson, Vandergriff, and MacChurchhill a call tomorrow morning.

Ya missed the point, Find a dealer who has one for sale and then get the price of that one in writting.

call around other dealers outside your area to give the whole picture to the adjuster.

Find a 98 ITR at a dealer? Man........How would I do that? I can barely find an 00-01 at the dealership. The ones I've found at autotrader.com and cars.com are all private sellers.

take your time.. the insurance company definitely will..

it's worth it to do it right..

when #0106 was stolen and recovered and smashed by NYC, I prepared an entire presentation for the insurance company, showing how much I paid, how I'd done maintenance, how much others were selling for on a variety of locations.. I still had to argue my point repetitively.. it's no easy task..
