Default Trouble Jumpstarting car

Im having a lot of trouble jump starting my car. Everything is connected fine and I dont think my battery is dead because it's still pretty new, but the starter just makes a lot of clicking sounds and the car isnt starting. Just wanted some input as to what the problem might be, before I take it into Acura. Thanks.

Sounds like both of you have weak batteries

Better jumper cables maybe? You could try charging it fully with a power pack to see if it holds the charge.

Are you connecting the negative on the dead battery to a ground? Ie: not the battery, a part of the metal of the car? I reciently jumped a car and the guy insisted i was wrong, and it just clicked, until I said lets try my idea... And it worked... So...

Maybe kick start it for now, drive around for awhile without radio, lights, etc. on. Then turn it off (at your place of course), and see if it starts back up afterwards.

What they need to do is bring it to a mechanic and have the battery load tested and then go from there.

If the load test wipes it out then you need a new battery, if it does not drain it then there is something else wrong.

thanx to everyone's inputs. i'll prolly try it again today, maybe doing it a little longer. Or else, prolly just take the battery out and check it and maybe recharge it or something.

For the indicator on the battery, I remember I was able to see some colors before and able to correspond it to the legend on the battery. Now when I look at it, I see nothing. I.E. its just all black.
