Changed the R's oil today and was peaking around to make sure everything looked ok underneath. I looked on the oil pan to notice one of the nuts had backed out and was about to come off
. I tightened it back down, then went around to each bolt to find that 4 more were very loose, and one was actually missing
. My pan has never been taken off for those that are wondering. I guess 85,000mi of vibration has taken its toll. It would be a terrible thing to be riding down the road one day and here a clank then moments later your engine lock up.

Yup noticed I was missing one of the nuts that hold the pan on a long time ago... But like a lazy bastard that I am I never put another one on.

When I put my clutch in my CRX a few weeks ago I noticed almost every other bolt was missing too

hmm if I remember I'll check mine next time I change the oil.
I was going to say "that's ok, it's weight savings you only need 2 of those nuts!" but I feared that someone here would believe it and try it.

When i changed my oil last i didnt notice any of them lose but now you got me a little concerned. Better to know now then when your **** locks up though huh. THanks and good lookin out man.
That is actually pretty common on B-series motors. The oil pan gasket gets hard and shrinks-bolts and nuts get loose, some fall off. You should probably replace the gasket.
