STARTING PROBLEM!!!fuel pump??injectors??help!!
My 1991 CRX Si 240K mi has trouble starting after its been sitting for a few hours. It doesnt seem to have any fuel at the injectors. If I turn the key, wait a few seconds, turn the key, wait a few seconds to run the pump, the car fires right up as it should. Does this sound like leaky injectors or a failing fuel pump or maybe something else? I searched for starting problem and got nowhere, thanks.
Buddy of mine had a similar problem on his teg. I think its the fuel pump that he changed.
Allthough IMO it allmost sounds like the FPR isnt holding pressure.
If you had a leaky injector, I doubt the car would fire up at all as the cylenders would be flooded

Ghetto method:
Shut car off...wait the ammout of time it ususally takes for it to have trouble starting.
Remove banjo bolt.
If fuel burts out....your system is staying under pressure.
Wait come to think of it....ignore my FPR post...it makes absolutely no sense as the system looses pressure normally...thats why the pump needs to prime. Allthough the prime is usually very short...so I assume it doesnt loose much pressure...allthough you could be loosing it allot quicker than normal.
But following Occam's razor, I doubt its taht complicated....probably just the fuel pump buddy.
Honda has a diagnosis for it in the shop manual. Power the pump for a given ammount of time while pouring the fuel from the sending line in a container.
The pump should dump a certain ammount of fuel if it's working.
