obd2 d-series alternator on a obd1 b-series
anyone know how i would go about mating the two together?
i am swapping an obd1 lsvtec into an obd2 ek and i want to use the obd2 alternator from the ek. a local shop told me that i could either fabricate a custom bracket and mount the obd2 alternator to the lsvtec block, or i could somehow rewire the obd1 alternator from the lsvtec to accept the obd2 wiring harness. anyone have any suggestions? thanks.

The easiest thing to do is get the proper alternator which would be a B series OBD2 alternator. If you want to use the OBD1 alternator, all you need is an OBD0/OBD1 alternator plug then wire it in place of your OBD2 alternator plug. Don't try fooling with mounting a D series one, use the right parts and it'll make life a lot easier.

i think that i am gonna try to go this route. do you happen to have a wiring diagram of which wires from the obd2 harness will connect the wires from the obd1 alternator? thanks in advance.
