Default Uggly antenna solution.

I was just standing by my friends car today(4 door dx) and noticed he didn't have an antenna. Instead, he has some conductive tape on his back window, kinda like the defroster lines but in a more complex design. It looked nice. Now I'm wondering, can this be done for our cars? I'm gonna be going to the body shop soon so i might as well fill up that antenna hole if this replacement is doable. Imagine that, it would be a pretty clean look. So, has anyone done this or know anything about it?

I've never heard of this being done aftermarket, but I don't think it would be impossible. The main barrier would probably be cost. I heard somewhere that replacing a back window that had the built in antenna was incredibly expensive, and in that case, you aren't running new wiring or anything else, just plugging in new glass.

Good luck. Keep us up to date on if it is possible and how much $ .
