Hidden Antenna
I was getting ready to do the antenna switch bypass so my dumb antenna doesnt go up when I listen to a cd and then I found out about this hidden antenna that Autoloc has, Im thinking this would be even better than doing the switch cause I dont like how my antenna looks when its up in the first place, just wondering if anybody else has done this mod to their car and how do they like it?
Heres the link to it :http://www.autoloc.com/detail.lasso?itemid=hab

i was thinking of it as well. i am not really sure what is so special about that antenna that they want 70 bucks for it, but i have seen them cheaper elsewhere (Radio Shack, Autotoys, etc.) I just have to get motivated to remove the plastic panel pieces to get to the antenna in the back of the car. i am quite lazy...

I agree, i bought one of these and decided not to install it, its just too big and it distracts you. I instead went to radio shack and got me a window moutn antenna, its a thing wire attached to a a roll of clear tape, id much rather put this on cuz you can at least try and hide it.

you know, some new head unit manufacturers, such as sony for example, when the cd player is working, the antenna does not go up, and of course when the radio is on, that is when it goes up...i was too a little annoyed and curios why it was up when the radio was off...haha

Has anyone seen a stock antenna on a prelude SH? Well, the answer is no, the antenna is hidden right above the rear view mirror underneath the roof lining. I'ts not very impressive, plain wound antenna, you could probably use a basic radio shack antenna, but I would try to find one that is slim enough to slip under the roof liner. The closer to the roof, the better reception you will get.
The antenna wire on the deck is th phatty single wire, usually going into the opposite side of the stock deck, big, black, cant miss it!

My Clarion Pro-Audio deck doesn't put the antenna up until I turn on the tuner... When I'm playing a CD, it stays down. My old school Alpine unit did this too...

yeah, he probably has one of the cheaper models. Newer, more expensive decks will have a blue/white amp output thats constant, and a blue wire that controls antenna only, i.e. shuts off when cd is in use.
