Default Engine Code 71 help

Im getting code 71 (Random Misfire) on my 5th gen H22 and am trying to find the problem thought maybe you guys could help. The car runs but once it gets up to normal operating temperature sometimes it will miss and it idles very rough getting rougher the longer you sit but has never died though. So far I have done a compression test 210, 220, 220, 230 so i dont think that is the problem. I did a leakdown on cylinder 1 checked out ok, so im thinking its something electrical. Tried replacing cap and rotor still nothing. Right now im waiting on new plug wires. Anything else you think I should try?

if the plug and wires won't help, then try to borrow someones o2 sensor, cause on my old d16 motor I had code 71 and it turns out that both of my o2 sensors was completely gone.

Interesting...I just welded a bung on my downpipe right next to my O2 sensor for my wideband. I few days later this started happening. Did your engine run badly with the bad O2 sensor or did it just throw the code.

after about a month of having the code, the engine ran really bad it would shut down on me all the time, I wasn't able to even drive the car around my neiborhood without it shuting down.

Well I put the new plug wires on today and all seems to be better no code and my idle is much better. Have a question though if I do need to replace my O2 sensor in the future has anyone ran a bosch universal O2 or do I have to resort to spending $180 dollars on the Genuine Honda one?

I just got a 4-wire 02 sensor off a civic. I'm almost 100% positive that all honda 4-wire 02 sensors are the same. so...if you can find a 4-wire 02 sensor for cheap for a honda, you can always do that.

Nice thanks for the reply...Well the check engine light is back on ocassionally though the car is running better now. Ill try the O2 sensor next hopefully that does the trick. Also what year civic? would it matter if it was OBD1 or OBD2?
