Code 41, O2 sensor???? why???
So I was messing with my distributor, replacing a seal and once I got the car back together there shortly I started getting a code 41, o2 code. I'm like, wtf, the o2 is a $150 ngk I bought 4 months ago. So I started messing around, and found one of the harness plugs was a little messed up so I hard wired it, I still have another plug in there to disconnect it as needed. Seemed to fix it for 5 minuted then it came right back up. I've wired 100 stereos in my life, so I know how to crimp some wires together. I reset my ecu and everything but still not getting a signal to my ecu from the o2!!! I double checked my timing, thinking maybe I screwed that up too, but thats all good. Anyone ever have problem like this with o2's or help for me??? I have a h22 in my accord.
Remember, 41 is the sensor heater, not the actual sensor itself. I don't know which wires are which on a '94, but the heater wires should measure 10 to 40 ohms when it's unplugged from the car. The main relay is supposed to supply +12v to the heater, and the ECM connects the ground side of the heater circuit to turn on the heater. Check that stuff. If the sensor signal itself was disconnected it should throw code 1.
Spark timing should have nothing to do with this.
