i might buy a h23 with a spun or spung bearning i dont know somthing like that can you guys tell me where it is or what it is i got this pic can you point it out of it is here and tell me how serious it is thanks
You basically have to remove the entire crank from the block. They are simple but critical to install. Its more of a time consumer cause you basically have to rip your block apart.

If your buying the motor already out the car, you can save some money by dis-assembling the whole block yourself. If not, at least separate the block from the tranny and head and take it to a shop. I suggest buying all the parts from slhondaparts.com or similar place as they got great prices. Then find someone to do the work at a resonable price.
But like Cotton said, make sure the crank wasnt damaged along with anything else. Its a good chance this guy knows more than he is telling you and just want to get rid of the motor.

By the way http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com has the crank for $799.25 as oppose to $1065.65 which is what you will end up paying from Honda or close to it. Just to give you an idea.
But this is for a 96 SI VTEC motor. Dont know what H23 your buying.

which bearing did it spin?
if it has a spun main bearing then u have to get the crank turned and used certain bearings AND U MUST HAVE THE BLOCK ALIGNED BORED or it will just spin it again.
if its a rod bearing (24) then turn the crank and get a new rod or just get a new crank and diff rod..

Yeah umm if it spun a bearing, its a crank journal bearing......... meaning the crank is likely ****....... and the motor will likely need align bored depending on the speed the motor was at when it was spun, sometimes you can get away without the align, but its a good idea anytime you spin a bearing...... just fixing engine main bearings isn't going to do anything, you need to replace them yes, but also do the other stuff i mentioned......... i happen to have some bearings for sale, let me know what u need size wise
5 is the main bearings, 24 is the rod bearings. I really wouldn't count on being able to just replace them. If it's a main bearing, you have to remove the crank to do the top one, so you might as well pull the motor. If it's rod bearings, you could do that with the motor in the car and the crank in place, but it most likely tore up the crank a bit... in that case, you'd need to remove the crank and get it machined, and then order special bearings for it.
So it's most likely going to be a big job.

your easiest route is to just find a h23 shortblock i just bought one for 325 thats to get it shipped to me. then yank the motor swap heads and put motor back in . it has 90k on it but a hell lot cheaper plus mine had 130plus

Spun bearing.
A spun bearing means the bearing has come unfastened from the block (if it is a main bearing, which is very common on h23s). The biggest problem that nobody here is talking about is what caused the problem. Hell, even if this is a best case affair of simply replacing the bearings, this problem is really indicative of an oiling problem. Any motor with an oiling problem is likely to have other damage, and would most likely require a complete rebuild (like everything). New main and rod bearings, align bore, rings, cylinder hone, head gasket, main seals, and cam seals. Not to mention a cleaning of the block to get rid of all the nasty junk inside it. How many miles on this motor?
Best case you are looking at $500 worth of parts (excluding labor). Worst case you are looking at $2.5k plus worth of parts and labor, most of which you can't do yourself (like align bore and honing).
The real question is what are you going to do with the motor? Are you buying the whole car? If so, just pull the crappy h23 and swap in a JDM H22, then have a
