Default Is it true?

I heard I needed a piece of flex pipe between the Jdm header and highflow cat, because of front wheel drive. Wont this affect the flow of my excaust? DC sport Jdm header, carsound 2.5" cat, 2.5" straight pipe to stock muffler is what I'm working on geting done. Can someone confirm this flex pipe business, or is there another way?

There is a donut gasket in there that allows flex.

Who told you that? A person that has NO expirence with FWD???

BTW, dont forget to change out the Muffler bearings after you install the flex pipe.

If I were to use a piece of 2.5" flex pipe would it be O.K. or would it hurt the flow of my excaust?

You don't need to put the flex in as the joint between the header and cat allows for movement of the engine (thats why its spring loaded - so it can move). Flex pipe is used by manufactures who don't use the dounut system.

If you really want to put flex pipe in make sure that is 2.5" ID and be aware that they are not smooth inside which may affect flow. HTH
