Greyish Smoke
Hey, I had my dad drive my Prelude and told him to shift at 7.5, to get the full effect. When he took off and hit VTEC a small amount of greyish exhaust came out. I told him and he had my drive away fast, and he said it was just a little un-burned fuel and that it shouldnt be a problem...Is he right? Any opinions, its a little, not a lot, but is noticable, but only at high RPM's. I know its not blue...so it cant be oil...so yeah, any ideas would be great! Thanks!

Black smoke, caused by a rich mixture, is very common way up in the rev range on VTEC Hondas, new or old.
White smoke is indicative of water getting into the combustion chamber and is not a good thing at all.
You're greyish smoke is probably the former (rich mixture) and nothing to worry about.
Signs that water are getting into your combustion mix are water droplets on your the underside of your oil cap and oil droplets in your radiator.

Don't worry too much, just keep an eye on it.

My car is in the shop right now, getting the hood emblem shaved and crowl painted. I will have it back soon, we should meet in kirkland sometime and rip around...

I wouldn't worry at all. My car does that sometimes as well. Unless your car starts puffing out three different colors like one of my friends ludes you're ok. Just keep an eye on it, and watch for the certain colors that come out like what H224Door was saying.
Well, from what I understand Honda ECU's run rich at high rpms just to be safe, so it's normal for it to blow a little smoke (dumping extra fuel). Just a little puff is normal, my car does it too at high revs. HTH
