Stripped the Allen wrench part of shock?

Default Stripped the Allen wrench part of shock?

I was putting on new springs and I accidentally stripped the allen wrench part of the shock. what are my options to get it off?

use a dremel or a cut off wheel to make a slot in the head and use a large flat head screwdriver to extract it OR you could try using a rounded nut extractor.

Get someone to zap the nut off with an impact gun. That would be after you've got the spring compressed.

what I do is first compress the spring. Then use vice grips and grip the shock shaft near the top. The shiney part. If you grab it where the bump stop goes you dont have any problems when you damage the surface a little. cus that part wont go into the shock. Then wrench off the nut.
