Lock assembly in steering column
ok so here it goes, i just got done putting in my EL gauges and went to start up the car, and guess what, they key wont kick back to on, so it keeps the starter engauged, and whats even more neato (sarcasm) is i can take out the key. So here we haev, a prelude, running, starter engauged, and no key. It takes alot of jiggling and stuff to get it to snap back to the on position. Is there a way i can lube this up or is the lock assembly shot to ****. also i know of a 93 Vtec lude around here with the assembly still in it ( junkyard) can i take that and have a key made for it?, and if so, will i have to have two different keys, one to get in the car, and one to start it?
thanks for the help
thanks for the help
if you take the ignition switch from the other car, yes you would need two different keys (Think of the 80 and early to mid 90 GM's).
Try using some Tri-flow to see if it frees it up.
