Default mini-me block question

im looking to build a mini-me and i was wondering which blocks i could use. i have a d15b1 (16v) it came out of a std hatch and i know std hatches are usually 8v. but i was wondering if it would withstand the higher revs of vtec. any help would be appreciated.

alot of people have done it, its basically the same thing as the jdm d15b sohc vtec, so i guess it doesnt have a problem revving that high. Im using an d16a6 block with a z6 head, and using a p28 ecu, and i jus swapped on the z6 intake mani, and heck, the difference between teh z6 and the a6 mani's are impecable. lol.

Sorry for going off topic, but what im really saying, how high you rev is really dependent on which intake mani you are using when you go with a minime. The a power just cuts off at 6500 rpms, but i could still rev to 7200, but it didnt have power. I just put the z6 one in, and it was like night and day, it pulls up there fine now, and feels like it can keep going.

But i just swapped out my old block for one that wasnt burning oil and knocking, i dont know if it was the 200,000 miles on it, or the z6 head revving to 7200 rpms, but it started knocking. It was always burning oil, so i guess it was a matter of time. Oh yeah, i got it to 1 quart a week, it was baaad.

D15B blocks have a better R/S ratio than D16 blocks. However, the rods are much weaker. This means that they are bad for boost but should be just as rev happy as the D16Z6

Ok don't be scared about putting a mini-me on a d15. the d15 actually has a better RS ratio than the d16. I used to have a y8/b2 mini-me and I revved the crap out of it. the guy I sold it to is still beating the hell out of it.

I wouldn't run more than 5 or 6 psi...the d15 rods are weak as ****...especially in the B1
